Tin Oxide

Tin IV oxide (stannic oxide) is most often used as a precursor in manufacturing of other, typically trivalent, tin compounds or salts. It can also be used as a reducing agent and as a pigment in the manufacture of glass, enamels and ceramic glazes. It can also be used in glazes and glass as an opacifier.

Tin IV Oxide is found naturally as the mineral cassiterite. It is typically a white to off-white and sometime grey crystalline solid.
